Categories as tiles on home page

Our site currently shows only "Popular" products on the home page, with a "Best Sellers" tab as an option:

https://leadingedgeproducts.com/store/

What we want instead is for the home page to show all of our top level categories as tiles, similar to how this page looks:

https://leadingedgeproducts.com/store/12-microfiber

However, rather than the Microfiber subcategories as shown above, we want only tiles for our top level categories:

Microfiber

Cleaners and Chemicals

Tools

Made in USA

From Recycled Materials

All of these categories are currently part of the "Home" category if that helps.

How can we do this?

Need to make simple module for the same. And in it you can showcase all your shops categories in it.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a module you suggest? I would hope that there is something available that will:

1. Utilize our existing category structure

2. Automatically update the module display if we make changes to our categories

I'm really surprised that the ability to choose from existing pages as your home page (or create your own custom home page) isn't a built in feature of PrestaShop. This would be a piece of cake in Joomla.

So there's no off the shelf module that does this? So lame.

It's not that I mind mucking around in code, it's just that I'd rather be doing it to create something like a neat visual effect or some cool functionality. If I have to dive into code just to make the home page look like other already existing pages, when I'm done the rest of the team goes "yawn… that's great, thanks."

Typical Prestashop… as I said, this would be dead simple in Joomla.

Yes both tools are separate in terms of their objective.

PS IS ECOMMERCE TOOL

Where JOOMLA IS CMS TOOL.

And in both cases administrators of said sites would appreciate easy point and click control over what shows up on the most important page of their site. ;-)
