Daresh
No, you're not missing anything, it works like that by default.
Martin Uker K
Redirect ot canonical URL is at "do not redirect"? try moving it to 302. Your url in your shop could be still cached or hardcoded to the controller non friendly URL. Else : URL of the shop so we could help more. Martin. Thank you Martin but I think that is a feature that PS 1.6 doesn't have. I tried to search an addons that can do it but I can't find anything. Do you know if PS 1.7 will support that? Martin Uker K
Trust me : It is a feature PS 1.6 has. It's 2 form point after "Friendly URL" in "SEO & URLS" Your server might also be missing rewrite_module (Apache). Seriously : What is the URL of your shop? The domain name? We might be to help you more by checking it up. Martin.
Daresh
But Martin, it's not about freindly URL's in general, but for the search query.
Martin Uker K
Oh man, Daresh is right! The query need to be in Full uri form, you could rewrite it in HTACCESS, but unless you are pretty good at it, I would advice you not to touch it! Martin. Hi, did you try a solution for a firendly url for the search controller? Thanks Angela
tanasi
Any update on this? I think what the OP asks is really helpful. To extend that it would be great if we could do just mydomain.com/customtext instead of mydomain.com/search?controller=search etc etc etc That could be also used along with product tags. E.g. Tag your products with label_A, label_B, then create URLs such as mydomain.com/label_A and then create a menu link to help your clients find stuff easily.
