[HELP] sort by & items per page

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have couple problems here and would like to see if anybody can help:

1. On product pages, the sort by feature seems only sorting products by every page but not actually sorting all them within the whole category. For example, if I choose "sort by: price lowest first" and I will see the lowest price one goes first on the first page let say it's $10. However, as soon as I click on the 2nd page under the exact same category it may show a $9 product.... (hope I make this clear)

2. The number of items display per page on the bottom seems going back to my back office default number (in my case it's 5) every time the user change to a different category or close the browser. It will never stay whatever the number the user chose. Any way to fix that?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply spyrost. My setting had been done the same way you suggested. But my problems here are two things:
1. Products per page will always go back to my pre-set number (5) as soon as the user change category. for example when user is viewing category A and he selected 20 products per page.... as soon as he go to category B the products per page will go back to 5.

2. This is the major problem - prestashop doesnt seem to sort all products within the same category but per page. For example if i have 10 products and their amount from $10 to $1... when user viewing the product list and sort by lowest price first with my pre set number 5 products per page... the firrst page will show from $6 to $10 and second page will show $1 to $5...this is pretty annoying

It happens to both visitors and logged in users.
I'd love to let visitors to over ride that number per page thing so everyone can have their own preference saved in cookies... I have seen many other sites work this way but not mine.
