Adding a field in product table

Hello,

 

I know this topic was already covered, and I already read all the posts about it. 

I followed the tutorials that I found but nothing's working, so I was wondering why ?

 

I created a new field in the product table: I saw in a post that I had to create the same field in product_shop table, is it true ?

 

Then I made a change to /classes/Product.php file (I added the field in the properties and definition).

 

Finally I made the changes to the template file in admin folder: admin_folder\themes\default\template\controllers\products\informations.tpl :

In the admin, I can see my field on the product page, but when I try to add some value in it and then save, the value is not stored in the database.

 

So I guess I missed something...
