[Feature Request]: Migrating from OsCommerce, How to do...

Hi,

I'm migrating my e-commerce site from OsCommerce to Prestashop and there is something I can't do with PS. I'm looking if the features exists or should I purchase/develop a module:

 

When I ship an order, I want to inform customer that the order has been shipped. I can ship full or partial orders, so message may include shipped item list. System should also be able to inform product's status (on stock, backorder, discontinued) as in my domain, most of items are only available on backorder.

 

I also provide tracking number to customer, with link to online tracking system.

 

And finally I inform the way the order has been shipped (I've 9 possibilities actually, I have to increase number of shipment methods later).

 

I've seen I can change the order status or I can send a message to customer but in this case it is a customer management department message, not an information message.

 

How to solve this ? It's a must have feature for me.

Which version of PrestaShop do you have?

 

You can set up automatic mails sending on status changes. You can choose template that it would look like customer department.

Go to Order->Statuses click edit "Send an email to the customer" and select Template.
