Need help getting started

Hi,

I downloaded the PrestaShop latest version but not sure where to go from here. I tried to open the file and could not run any of the files. I am very new to this, however, if you can give me a few tips on what I need to do from here, I feel strongly that I can get things figured out.

You need to upload the files in the zip files to a web server with PHP 5 and MySQL 5 enabled. Login in to your cPanel, click the "MySQL" button in the "Databases" section, then create a database (for example, "yoursite_db"), a database user (for example, "yoursite_usr") and then add that user to the database. Once you've done that, you can go to http://www.yoursite.com/install to run the installer. Enter the database details you created in the installer and then you should have no problems installing PrestaShop.
