Unable to install Prestashop 1.6.1.8, cannot create database tables

Hi, I am trying to install Prestashop 1.6.1.8 on my computer with mysql 5.7 and the installation gets stuck at 12%. The database has 232 tables and one of them is ps_shop_url but the error message says that it cannot be found. Thanks in advance.

I uninstalled mysql 5.7 and installed Mariadb 10.1 but the result is no different

I a new in Prestashop installing, in the past, I never had troubles to install Joomla etc..

 

Can somebody help me?

try using Mysql 5.6.  5.7 won't work, and I don't know about MariaDB.

I used mysql 5.5 and it is working now, thanks for the replies

Try to set short_open_tag to Off (0) in php.ini file

Für mich hat sich das Problem erledigt.

Wenn bereits bei der Installation, einer an und für sich simplen Installation, schon gravierende Probleme ergeben, verfolge ich diese Sache nicht weiter; bei dutzenden Joomla Installationen hat ich noch nie ein Problem.
