parnison
At present, when someone visits the website a drop down menu appears for them to select a category to view however if they just click the main category button on the main menu it brings up a page stating that there are no products in that category. How do I change that to show the sub categories if a customer selects the main category. shop.suttonpetsandexotics.co.uk
Knowband Plugins
It is not a good solution to show products of a sub-category when someone clicks on a parent category. You can map all products of sub-categories to parent categories as well, so that when someone clicks on a parent category then products of all of its sub-categories appear in result. This is a better approach to solve your problem.
parnison
Maybe didn't explain it very well when someone clicks on a main category i would like a block of sub categories to show which the user can then click on
Knowband Plugins
We apologize for misunderstanding your point. The functionality you are expecting is already present is default Theme Configurator module. Please check the attached screenshot, you might have disabled the 'Display subcategories' setting.
