how to make a discount on out-of-stock products?

Is it possible to make a discount on all products which are not in stock??

 

the discount should be given in %

 

theme used: default bootstrap

 

prestashop version: 1.6.0.5 and 1.6.0.11 and 1.6.1.6

As per our knowledge, it is not possible to achieve this directly but you can do that by assigning all the out of stock products to a specific category through a CRON job.

 

Then add a Catalog Price Rule that adds a discount of 10% to that category, you can add Catalog Price Rule from following path in your admin panel:

 

Price Rules -> Catalog Price Rules

But I dont know how to create a CRON job (I am new to this)

 

Where can i get the knowledge to create such a CRON job?
