maxfox44
Hi Guys I hope you can help. My company are moving all their websites to a new server. I think I'm okay moving the existing prestashop across, having just moved other wordpress and opencart shops. However, I am running Prestashop version 1.6.0.9 and I am wondering if I can or should upgrade to the latest version and still retain my customers and products etc? Any advice would be really appreciated. Max
Gabriel Perez
Hi. Using the 1-click upgrade module (native from prestashop) you should be able to update your entire shop without losing any data. However, what happens to your modules and templates may not be perfect. Youre updating from a recent version, so you might not have any issue. About the question "Should you upgrade?" the answer is always yes And remember : always do a backup before upgrading. maxfox44
Hi The 1-click upgrade module fails and even paid help couldn't solve it. That is why I was thinking of installing a fresh updated version on the new server and importing my shop. But I don't know whether that is good practice or not. El Patron
Max, don't upgrade until you are on new hosting...don't mix projects... then create a running copy of production, (dev copy), and practice there.... my three cents....
