Remove grid/list options?

I did see a post from years back showing a solution to remove the View" grid / list options here - https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/337353-remove-view-gridlist-bottons/

 

But like most posts here nothing works because it pertains to a much earlier version of Presta.

 

I want to completely remove the View: grid | list 'buttons' because I customized my template to display 4 columns and when you click on list and then back to grid, it shows 3 columns. Better to remove these display options altogether.

 

Anyone have any ideas? It cannot be accomplished by editing code in the product-sort.tpl file under my theme as mentioned in the older post. Nothing changes, which means there is another similar file containing the same code which I cannot find.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Editing the product-sort.tpl should work for current Prestashop. Maybe you need to recompile the theme?

That is the logical file to edit, but deleting the code doesn't have any effect. It's not a cache issue, I check across different browsers. Puzzling!

You changed the files in the correct theme folder?
