basmistry
OK, so you setup a ecommerce site with Prestashop eventually its time to hand over to the user.... {this my 1st one in PS and its only a catalog at this stage} Users want to be able to add products / processor orders etc add / edit / remove categories Change CMS info They will also want to Update banner images (there are other areas too) To do this users MUST have access to Modules - am I right ? Once access to modules is given - they can do almost anything either deliberately or accidentally Are there any plugins available to enable access to specific modules ? I've used Wordpress before - Plugins allow complete restriction to most things even take out ALL Wordpress reference I prefer to LOCK down as I don't want users to PLAY with things which can be real source of problems
jetway
Hi, Are the Users you're talking about from one company or several different ones? Are you trying to build a marketplace? if so i would go with a Marketplace Module without granting any access to the back end. If you're setting up prestashop for a company you can restrict access by creating a new user group and limit access like that.
basmistry
one company but they have regular staff changes ! I have created new users and limited access but the problem as I see it is apart from dealing with Products, CMS & Orders - almost everything needs access to Modules and then its a FREE for all ! this defeats the object of access rights As an example the Slider - from marketing point of view this needs to be done regularly by the user without calling in the webdesigner Can't add just Slider to Admin menu without giving access to Modules AAAAARGh
rocky
What version of PrestaShop are you using? On my PrestaShop v1.6.1.7 test site, on the Administration > Permissions tab, I can see a list of Modules on the right. Untick all the boxes for a module to prevent the user configuring the module. El Patron
for me I want to know if any of my files change, while marketed at hack/trojan/etc. PrestaVault monitors any file change, so if someone installs a module, it will notify you. Search for PrestaVault and sleep better. Back up back up, from hosting do not trust back up modules, have 7+ days of hosting back up and and restore...
