TurabG
Prestashop 1.6.1.6 and Prestashop 1.6.1.7 I have an instance locally which has nearly 3.000 products added. No customers. A few modules installed. Both backend and frontend are extremely slow. It sometimes takes more than 10 seconds to load. I tried to install it on a production server VDS, version 1.6.1.7. No modules installed, just the "cleaner" to clean the default data. No customers, no categories, no products, no nothing. Loading is still extremely slow. Both are different machines, both are different installations and brand new. But as you can see from the screenshots, everything is extremely slow. Weirdly, turning off some caching features makes it load faster for about a second or two, but still inacceptably slow. What I tried so far; - Delete all files from /config/xml folder. This caused the local instance to blow. Now it never opens. No errors, nothing shows up; it just takes forever to load. - Crossway caching preferences, enable, disable, move from file cache to MySQL, never clear cache, never recompile. Nothing helps. It just gives me one or seconds out of 10-15; which is literally useless. I need to get on production ASAP. So any help is greatly appreciated. TurabG
As far as I can see; this is a common problem and that means it's not mostly because of any hardware or server side. And yet nobody is talking about it. Aren't there any ideas on these symptoms?

Naldinho
What were the specs of the production server?Did you do anything to customize the server settings for better speed?
TurabG
Server has a default configuration right now; which serves about 20 web sites without any problem or any slow-down issues. Server has Xeon X5650 CPU and 4GB of RAM. DrWeb antivirus was consuming the memory a lot; I disabled it to test, not much of things changed. CPU and Memory loads are very normal.
