glenns
Hey all, please excuse the rookie question.I downloaded Xammp lite and installed it on my laptop while I have been traveling and I was able to install Prestashop and start building my site.I will back home shortly and will buy a new desktop and will want to work on that primarily. Can I simply install Xammp on my new desktop PC and then copy all of my Prestashop folders/files over to the new computer or I do have to reinstall and start from scratch? Is there another method like FTP or something that is better? I have not gone to far so there is not too much data there. Thanks!!!
Gurpreet
copying the files over should work fine, make sure you copy your db over aswell.
glenns
Thanks Gurpreet, is the database basically just another file?? If I create a new db when I install xampp on the new pc what is the easiest way to import the data to it?THANKS!!!
21846657
Don't know which version of XAMPP you installed in the laptop. If that was a portable version, simply copying the whole directory of XAMPP to the desktop PC will work fine.

Gurpreet
you should be able to export your db into a sql file if your using phpMyAdmin, then copying this over to your desktop and import it.
glenns
Appreciate the info very much...I *should* be able to handle this.I am thinking as I read the forum today that I may just start fresh with the new 1.3 as upgrading kinda of sounds like a pain and since I just barely started to build the site it will not really be much more work.Again, thanks for your help!!
