How do i add product location?

Is it possible to add a field to each product for a location. Location as in where the item is stored in our warehouse to help with picking orders before dispatch?

 

Also is there anyway to produce a picking list or maybe have the location show on the invoice so when we print this off it can be also used as a pick list.

You'll need to change "Enable advanced stock management" to "Yes" on the Preferences > Products tab and then create a warehouse on the Stock > Warehouses tab, then you'll get an option to enter a location when editing a product:

Thanks for the reply. I have created a warehouse and added a test product. When I click "print order" t just shows "-" under the warehouse. Is there something extra I need to do to get it to show the shelf location?

It will only work for new orders, not existing orders. For it to work for existing orders, you'll have to edit the ps_order_detail table and enter the right id_warehouse for each product.

I had this field made for 1.6 without using anvanced stock management.

Also shows in FO wich is perfect for customers in our store.

Now we have to make it work for PS 1.7...

@[email protected] this field with product location does not appear to me . I have tried to put and get out the advanced stock management but same result. 

how did you do to see that ?

I have added field back manually in product.tpl

please have a look on database and product.tpl . it's not complicated to put it back
