shaneamaguire
Fresh install, I looked at the .htaccess and this is all it contains- "Order deny, allowDeny from all" Is this right? Also where has preferences > SEO & Urls gone to?

rocky
Is that file in your root directory? If it is, then it must have existed before you installed PrestaShop to prevent anyone accessing your website. Going to the Shop Parameters > Traffic tab in the Back Office and then clicking the "Save" button should overwrite that file with PrestaShop's .htaccess file. If that file that in a subdirectory such as the docs directory, it's designed to prevent customers accessing that directory and you should leave it there. shaneamaguire
Thanks I've managed to regenerate the .htaccess, however, I still get the same 404 error when viewing any of the categories.
rocky
That's weird. I have no problems viewing categories on my PrestaShop v1.7 RC1 test site.
shaneamaguire
My URL is sporelab.co.za you can check for yourself. Any ideas what might be causing it?
rocky
Unfortunately, seeing the website isn't enough to determine the problem. It will require inpecting code and settings. I hope you realise PrestaShop v1.7 shouldn't be used on production websites yet.

rocky
You should report the issues on the Forge so they can be fixed.

Andrej Stas
Hello, I created issue on the Forge http://forge.prestashop.com/browse/BOOM-2128 but they closed it without investigation. Everyone please add comments about your systems which does not work. You reported "bad URLs". Why should they be "bad"? I have the same URLs and everything works. If there's some problem in your eshop, it's not caused by the URLs. They replied that they tested your problem and didn't find any issue. Furthermore, they invited you to write them how to reproduce the problem. So why are you saying "closed without investigation"?
