[SOLVED] Prevent unregistered visitors from adding products to the shopping cart

Hello,

I'm looking for a solution to prevent unregistered visitors from adding products to the shopping cart.

The reason is that there is a screening process during user registration based on the delivery address, and many visitors discover this after filling the shopping cart, which results in a high number of abandoned carts.
I am then unable to sort between carts that where abandoned for this particular reason, or for other reason.

All suggestions are welcome!

Julia

hello
i will advertise mine plugin: add to cart only for logges users - it works like you want. If unlogged user (so unregistered user) will try to put product to cart - module will spawn the information that add to cart is not possible for unlogged users (you can alter the message text). The main pros of the plugin is fact that it does not use overrides and does not alter database.

example of the message:
unlogged-users-block-add-to-cart.png

and here you can see the gif video that shows how it works for logged / unlogged users
