Using Prestashop as special offers showcase

Hello,

 

We have a retail client wishing to showcase it's monthly special offers products in a mobile friendly format, moving away from the traditional PDF catalogue. We are considering the option to use Prestashop in catalog mode (disabling purchase options, but showing prices and discounts) for this purpose. 

 

We have a total of about 20,000 products in our store. For each special offer, a selection of about 300 need to be picked out. Moreover, we have developed a custom catalog management system which links to our publishing software for print brochures. The system can export in CSV.

 

1. We would like to hide the items which are not part of the special offers each month. How easy is it to achieve this and reactivate them for future use?

 

2. How easy is it to import items into Prestashop from a fairly simple CSV file into its more complex database structure? Knowing that Product info and prices will need to be changed every couple of weeks.
