RayBox
Hi, I've recently purchase a template website designed for/with Prestashop 1.5.4.1 I've inadvertently upgraded the Prestashop to 1.6.17 The template supplier can only guarantee the site will work with 1.5.4.1 and suggest I go back to it. Not that easy to do... The shop appears to be working but I've only just started working on it. Can anyone tell the differences between the 2 versions and if I'll come across any major issues? Thanks in advance. Ray
vekia
its almost impossible to write all of differencies between these versions of the shop. list of changes for 1.5.x https://www.prestashop.com/en/developers-versions/changelog/1.5.5.0-stable https://www.prestashop.com/en/developers-versions/changelog/1.5.6.0-stable https://www.prestashop.com/en/developers-versions/changelog/1.5.6.1-stable https://www.prestashop.com/en/developers-versions/changelog/1.5.6.2-stable https://www.prestashop.com/en/developers-versions/changelog/1.5.6.3-stable and there are also MAJOR core change between 1.5.x and 1.6.x, list of all releases with changelog here: https://www.prestashop.com/en/developers-versions if developer of the theme does not guarantee that everything will be fine - then no one does...
El Patron
do not fall in love with your theme so much that you would bother retrofitting from 1.5 to 1.6...you will fail....and you will not even know how many ways it will go wrong. even asking tells me you need to hire someone to do this for you...lol I'd rather tell the brutal truth than give any hope you will succeed on your own....even with forum help. good luck, el
RayBox
Thanks El think... I'm a bit confused with your comment. I've already change from 1.5 to 1.6. So are you basically saying you wouldn't have advised changing from 1.5 to 1.6? Or are you saying don't bother trying to go back to 1.5? I'm in the process of getting the whole site reloaded with 1.5 and start again. Haven't done a lot with the site so its not to big a deal. Thanks, Ray do not fall in love with your theme so much that you would bother retrofitting from 1.5 to 1.6...you will fail....and you will not even know how many ways it will go wrong. even asking tells me you need to hire someone to do this for you...lol I'd rather tell the brutal truth than give any hope you will succeed on your own....even with forum help. good luck, el
Krystian Podemski
Theme for 1.5 would not work on 1.6, and it would be much cheaper to just purchase theme dedicated for 1.6 version. That's it
