Warning when no attribute is selected.

Hi, 

 

I am trying to solve (that I thought was a simple) problem, with attribute selection. I have looked in these forums and googled it but found only this that would cover my needs.

The requirement is (I think) simple. 

 

Force a user to select an attribute other then the default attribute and show a warning text when he presses the add to cart button. The default could be a simple text eg --please select--. 

 

Hide an attribute that is not available.

 

Could someone please help ?
