Default combination attributes not selected

I am working on our new shop, PrestaShop version 1.6.1.7, running locally on MAMP. 

 

My theme is based on the default bootstrap theme. I notice that on the product pages, it always shows the message:

"This combination does not exist for this product." Even when the combination DOES exist. 

 

As soon as I click the attribute buttons to select the attribute combination I want, the page responds and displays the right buttons/options. The URL is changed to reflect the chosen attributes, i.e. "#/width-baa/us_shoe_size-10"
 

However when I refresh the page (with the attributes hashtag) it does not select the attributes from the URL, and just shows the "This combination does not exist for this product."  message again. 

 

Anyone else with this problem / a solution?

Check if your page has any errors. Open developer console if your browser, if you see any errors put them here. I think, wrong combination is selected. Also check, have you cleared your cache
