Cannot remove Blocks from sidebar/hooks

Hi,

I want to remove some blocks from the left sidebar. For example the manufacturers and the information block.

I tried to use the live edit mode. Removed the blocks and saved, but the blocks are still displayed.

Then I used the positions functionality and I removed the blocks from the displayleftcolumn but after clicking remove the block are still in the list.

The log shows no error. What else could I try? Any ideas?

Turn Off Cache and change to Force compilation in the performance tab then refresh the page.
