Admin split an order to ship individual products seperately?

Hello,

My website offers in stock and pre-order items for sale.

I am coming across some orders whereby a customer has ordered some in stock and pre-order items.

Is there a way that I can split their order so I can seperate the items so they can be updated individually when shipped?

My current workaround is that I use a "partial shipment" order status so I know there are still items that need to be shipped to fully complete the order.

I am really after a real solution for this so any advice is appreciated. Whether it be that I can individually mark the item shipping status within the order or that I can split the order and separate the in stock items from the pre-order items, either option sounds good but I'm struggling to find how to do it or if there is another suitable process?

You can create "Preorder shipment carrier" and in all preorder product assign only this carrier, when customer add product to cart all products with this shippment method supposed to be split to another order.
