joelkap2
During an upgrade from 1.4 to 1.6 most of the site configuration was damaged, how do I fix this ?
tdr170
That is a big upgrade and so much has changed since 1.4, you will need to re-configure everything, best bet is to do a fresh install of 1.6 and start over and re-build the site from scratch. If you were using a custom theme in 1.4 chances are it is not compatible with 1.6. I originally upgraded from 1.4 to 1.5 then 1.6 and noticed many differences between a fresh install and an upgrade so I re-built the entire site. You can roll back to 1.4 while you building the new site, build the new site in a sub folder of your domain or with Xampp this way your still live while building. Try to give a little more detail in your post, your description is wide and varied and hard to tell you what you need to do. Is the BO OK, Is the FO all messed up you know details.
El Patron
I assume you have a back up? If so please restore to 1.4.....and let's do it again....else...ew you in trouble...also you leave out almost all detail. 1.4.(what)....too 1.6(what)...etc.. then it's best to upgrade to v1.4.11.1 stable (this can be selected in adv menu in upgrade module). then from there you can either try for latest stable 1.6 or go latest stable 1.5 to 1.6.... skijump
I would recommend building from scratch as well. That is a big upgrade!
musicmaster
Usually things can be saved with my tool https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/445453-copy-shopdata-script-for-copying-shop-content-for-upgrade/ It is a bit of a learning curve but if your shop has more than a few dozen articles that time is well spent. Of course you can also outsource the work and ask someone for a quote.
moonlight.sonata
I would recommend building from scratch as well. That is a big upgrade! I agree with you. To upgrade from 1.4 to 1.6, you should download 1.6 and install as a fresh site, then transfer all your data from 1.4 to 1.6, You wont meet any configuration errors.
