Newsletter: This email address is already registered

Hi folks,

 

Quick question. When I enter an email in the newsletter box in the footer I get "Error: This email address is already registered". The only two hooks I have is the Header and displayFooter for the newsletter block. Now the email gets registered in the DB and I can see it, however the Error is thrown possibly cause it's called somewhere else so it hits it twice?

 

If I remove the Header hook then all works well except I do not get any notification in the header no error and no success etc...

 

I've searched through the forums but to no avail. Found one post but couldn't download the attached blocknewsletter.php to compare the edits made as he didn't describe what he did.

 

Any help?
