phil.mcshee
I noticed this morning that I had a huge surge in visitors to my site, but they were all from the same IP and went to page not found. Having looked up it IP I assume it was some one trying to brute force the address of my admin page. For the moment I have blocked that IP and it seems to have stopped for now. Is there a way to prevent this not only for the security, but it also screwed up my statistics. Thanks for any help or advice Phil
selectshop.at
Firewall on your server (IP-tables). In this case ask your provider or the server administrator, there are several methods for to stop this (firewall, honeypots, etc...)
phil.mcshee
Is there a way to remove this IP from my statistics?
selectshop.at
You can set a filter on back-office statistics tab. - Statistics -> Visitors online -> set the IP as maintenance IP. Than it will not shown on your statistics. Another way is by deleting the IP from database table (if you know how to do that, otherwise I will not give you instructions for that, cause case sensitive to manipulate manually database).
