poseidon_gmb
Hello, first, i'm a newbie in Prestashop. it happens that i have to run a Prestashop store. So using the multistore function i created a new store in the Default Group, assigned to it a language and a registered domain. The issue is that in Cpanel-File Manager-Public_html it doesn't exist the new created store, thus i cannot make the domain point to any files. Also there is no database created for the new store. I must add that there is already a main store and another created with multistore feaature either, by a developer, which are up and running, having databases, files and all the stuff needed. I just cannot understand why creating a new store doesn't create the files and database. Thanks in advance for any advice in that matter.
rocky
Multistore is designed to create multiple shops linked to a single PrestaShop installation and database. It is not designed to duplicate an existing store into a separate directory and database.
poseidon_gmb
Thanks for your answer. Still remains the following questions: 1-do i have to create a new alias for the new created store? 2-to where should i redirect the new alias? 3- in the back end of my store, setting the url for the new created store should i specify a physical and/or a virtual URL? Thanks in advance!
rocky
If you're using the same domain name, you'll need to specify a virtual URI to distinguish them. Otherwise, using different domain names should be enough. I think PrestaShop will use the domain name and virtual URI to decide which shop to load.
