onezoso
I have a live shopping cart that Im going to replace with prestashop 1.6.1.6 and I need to make sure prestashops "base URL" (cart directory name) matches the old sites base directory name. Is it as simple as changing the base URL name in presta admin? Or is there other stuff I will need to adjust after changing the name? Example: current old site: http://myoldcart.com/xcart/ New prestashop: http://mynewprestacart.com/xcart/ I need to keep the new presta directory name (xcart) unfortunately because the old site has over 14 years of "URL-SEO juice" that I DO NOT want to lose by otherwise changing the URL string. Thanks in advance!

El Patron
Hi, this is a good module that will redirect your old url's on old shop to urls of new shop http://addons.prestashop.com/en/11399-301-302-303-url-redirects-seo.html we have used this for many clients. it's nice because you can use .csv, so for example you can use old shop sitemap.xml to have old links and then add new links. and I don't know what wordpress would have to do with it, it would have same problem. happy day, el
Gabriel Perez
We're talking about changing the base url of a prestahsop (changin a prestashop from a domain or directory to another), not of making a redirect of all of the old content's url to the new one. By the way, doing this in wordpress (changing the base url) is just hell
