Old Version 1.4.11 to 1.6

I wonder that if I build up 1.6 and when the 1.6 layout finish, 1.4.11 stay open for a while, can 1.6 change ip address previous website?

 

How can I build up 1.6 for awhile until I finish then take over to 1.4.

Are you asking for a way to transfer data from 1.4 to 1.6 (customers, orders, etc), or simply if it's possible to develop a 1.6 one in a temporary space, then change that to the production url?

Because I didnt want 1.4.11 to 1.6 that will be mess around with picture and stuff. So need do build up 1.6 first and will remove 1.4.11

make a copy of your production shop, there you can do upgrade...

 

once you do that then you will have a better idea of how to proceed...

You can simply use a subdomain or subfolder, then when you are ready use cpanel to point your main domain to the subfolder instead of the root
