Blank screen on install

So this is the problem. I googled the situation and what I could read was about old versions of PHP and MySQL. Mine are not the newest but they are within the acceptable spectre:

PHP Version 4.3.9
MySQL 5.0.51

Whenever I try to access to the root directory of Prestashop in my server I got a blank screen. Any ideas?

PrestaShop won't work on PHP4. You need to install and activate PHP5.
