chulien
It is long explanation but please take time to read. I really need help. It is my first time installing prestashop download. And I have no IT knowledge or experience. I am just an online seller. I am not new to prestashop since I built my website using prestashop CLOUD before. but suddenly, all my website files were suddenly deleted. And I cant rely on the support to solve the problem. So I have no choice but to rebuild my site. But this time, I will use prestashop download, and host it with Hostgator.com so that I can have my own backup files. I followed the instructions provided by the prestashop in the video. But after I upload the files to filezilla, and try to access chulien.com/install, it shows this error. I cant figure out if where does the error come from. The chulien.com page isn’t working chulien.com is currently unable to handle this request HTTP ERROR 500 I will explain to you all the things that I have done to help you track the possible cause of error. So here is the scenario. CHULIEN.COM is the domain of my prestashop Cloud site which is also CHULIEN.PSWEBSTORE.COM but the files from this website suddenly gets deleted. So I will just build another website. But now I will use Prestashop Download. but still, i want the domain "CHULIEN.COM" to be the domain of my new website hosted by hostgator.so I logged in to prestashop.com then have unassigned "CHULIEN.com" to CHULIEN.PSWEBSTORE.COM Then after that, I have bought a business hosting plan to hostgator and put "CHULIEN.COM" as the domain that I want to get hosted. Then I logged in to CPanel and followed the instructions in prestashop video. Then after I upload the prestashop files to my filezilla under the folder public_html, when I try to access chulien.com, it show that error. Then I changed the nameservers provided by godaddy, but still, has no change. I waited for 1 day before I take a new action. Then after a day, I tried to unlock the domain and changed the DNS zone file to this. but until now, nothing has changed. Did I do something wrong? I dont know if the error is caused by the prestashop files, or because of the chnging to where the site points to? chulien
Hi, i already found it out. It is due to change in permissions. I used the hostgators file manager in cpanel to upload the files under public_html folder but please take note that to avoid error in permissions, do not unzip the file yet, then upload it. after you upload the prestashop zip file, you can just extract it there. then the permissions wont be affected. ^^
