Subcategories not appear on the site

I have a problem on the site it shows No subcategories of products, already checked that option to "show / hide subcategories" that exists in most settings it's all right. I do not know WHAT more can be, someone help me?

The file you said (category.tpl) is within the theme right prestaphop folder?

 

I opened this file and not found anything talking about subcategory.

I did something here that worked:

I took the file "category.tpl" another theme and replace the file that was giving trouble, and apparently solved the problem.

 

What I did is wrong? this may give problem or can I use so often?

It is better not switch all file but just add code to display subcategories. Sometimes themes using different files to show something on shop, so for you it will be better to try my code frome previous post.
