hotwirenetworks
Hello, This is driving me crazy. I am trying to edit the Terms and Conditions cms page and using nothing but <p> and <br />. and <strong> Sometimes it saves... but on certain paragraphs, it will not save and gives 404 error. Are there certain words I cannot use in a cms page? What is causing this? Prestashop 1.6.1.6 Use HTMLPureifier is Disabled.
shokinro
Are you editing the HTML source code itself via HTML editor menu - "Tools" - "Source Code"? If not you can have a try. It seems working to me. And I do not think 404 error is related to the HTML editor - could be something else.
hotwirenetworks
Hi shokinro, I am editing the page with the source code editor. I agree, I do not think it is the HTML editor either, but something in this paragraph will not allow me to save and throws a 404: "If you use this site, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your computer, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password. You may not assign or otherwise transfer your account to any other person or entity. You acknowledge that Wholesale Backpack is not responsible for third party access to your account that results from theft or misappropriation of your account. Wholesale Backpack and its associates reserve the right to refuse or cancel service, terminate accounts, or remove or edit content in our sole discretion." I skipped this paragraph and went to the next to see if it would save and it did. Tried putting this paragraph back in the source code and 404 page error on "Save". It's pretty weird to say the least. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
shokinro
That's really strange. Is there any special characters included in that paragraph message? Maybe you can try to copy/paste that message to some other plain text editor such as Windows notepad and copy the message from the notepad again to the HTML editor. it will strip special character. hotwirenetworks
I wish it was that easy! But, I have already tried that as well :S
hotwirenetworks
I have done the following to diagnose the issue: 1. Cleared Browser Cache 2. Tested on 3 different browsers 3. Cleared all cache in Prestashop 4. Copied and pasted into Notepad, then copying that and pasting into cms page 5. Disabled and Enabled "Friendly URLs" 6. Enabled "Allow iframes" I have looked through the paragraph for special characters, and I have found none. Nothing seems to help... uhg LOL
shokinro
Sometimes weird things happens. If I were you, I will try following to see it helps - try to reduce content of your problem paragraph, even one word by one word to see what happens. - it could also be related to your computer security settings/anti-virus soft, try to use other computer. hotwirenetworks
Is there a maximum character count limit placed on CMS pages? If so, where can I edit that? Edited August 4, 2016 by hotwirenetworks (see edit history)
shokinro
No, I do not think there is a specific limitation. The contents limitation size is 3999999999999. It is defined in /classes/CMS.php 'content' => array('type' => self::TYPE_HTML, 'lang' => true, 'validate' => 'isCleanHtml', 'size' => 3999999999999),
hotwirenetworks
I would pay someone to help me with this. It is really holding me up.
vekia
if you can post form that contains some html code - this is usually related to hosting security reasons. in simple words, your host probably blocks some html markups like <script> etc. verify if it, i solved several problems like that recent time. hotwirenetworks
I sure can. If I post that by itself, it saves just fine. It is when I try to save all of it, that it redirects to 404 error.
vekia
that's strange im convinced that it is something between form -> host - maybe it's because of the size of $_POST with cms contents. if you try to copy-paste a lot of lines of simple text, problem is the same? anyway, if I were you, i will ask your hoster why: "you can't save [YOUR TEXT] - when I'm trying to $_POST it to my website - it returns 404 error and it seems like it is a problem related to some security layer on the hosting"
