jandrew
I have no idea if what I'm looking for is possible, I will tell you what I'm looking for and if perhaps something exists that can do this you can point me in the right direction or tell me I'm nuts... or maybe it's a tinkering with the code thing. So I have three main groups in my store. Retail, Group Purchases and Wholesale. Can I set a varies price discounts and combine that with free shipping? My example table is listed below... any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Regular Customer Base Orders Less than $90 = Full Price + Flat Rate Shipping Orders $90 or More = Full Price + Free Shipping Orders $150 or More = 10% Discount + Free Shipping Orders $250 or More = 20% Discount + Free Shipping Group Rates Orders Less than $90 = Full Price + Free Shipping Orders $90 or More = 10% Discount + Free Shipping Orders $150 or More = 15% Discount + Free Shipping Orders $250 or More = 25% Discount + Free Shipping Wholesale Customers Orders Less than $90 = 25% Discount + Free Shipping Orders $90 or More = 30% + Free Shipping Orders $150 or More = 35% Discount + Free Shipping Orders $250 or More = 40% Discount + Free Shipping Is this a pipe dream or is there a combo of settings that can make this happen? rocky
It should be possible by setting up "Customer", "Group" and "Wholesale" customer groups on the Customers > Groups tab in the Back Office. You can then go to Price Rules > Cart Rules and then create a separate rule for each of the above. For example, create a cart rule and enter the name as "Wholesale Discount 25%" in the Information subtab and leave the code blank so that it automatically applies, then on the "Conditions" subtab, click the "Customer group selection", select all the groups and then click the "Remove" button, then click the "Wholesale" group and then click the "Add" button. On the "Actions" subtab, change "Free shipping" to "Yes" and choose "Percent (%)" and enter 25 as the value. You can then click the "Save" button to save the price rule. Create more cart rules in a similar way until you have all the discounts and free shipping set up.
jandrew
Thank you very much I'll give that a try this morning and see how it goes. Ok so here is where I get stuck, I did the following. Name of rule - Less than $90 = 25% Discount + Free Shipping Code is blank, on conditions subtab, removed all groups except "wholesale" On the actions subtab, I changed the free shipping to YES, I chose % and entered 25. But this rule does not address the fact that I ONLY want it to apply if the customer has less than 90$ worth of goods in their cart. The next rule would address 90.01 to 149.99 etc... is there a way I can make these cart rules apply to the cart value on check out? Ok let me edit this again, I see on the conditions tab there is a minimum amount selection. So for this rule if I set it to 89.99 that means up to that amount this rule will apply, correct? Does that mean if I create another rule and set that minimum amount to 149.99 THAT rule will apply in place of the lessor one? I don't want them to get TWO discounts on the same order, because if the order had a value of 155 it would meet the conditions of minimum amount for BOTH rules. Also in the total available and total available for each customer can I set a value that makes both unlimited? Thanks for all your help, sorry for the newb questions, but in fact I am a newb :-) Edited July 28, 2016 by jandrew (see edit history)
jandrew
I think it worked haha.. I found the compatibility with other rules option and set them all to only work alone.. I believe that was the right choice...

jandrew
Haha, I don't know about me figuring it out, but I do know when you pointed me in the right direction I was able to muddle my way through. Thanks very much. I'm sure I'll be back at some point, hopefully you'll be browsing that day too :-)
