New to PrestaShop. Some questions.

Hi.

 

I am pretty new to PrestaShop but I am intrigued by it and would like to learn it. I just have some questions that are bothering me as I am not sure I can achieve what I need with PrestaShop which I could achieve with building a shop from scratch. Obviously using PrestaShop would be a huge time saver if I can achieve everything I need.

 

1. If I host my PrestaShop in the cloud like they offer what are the possibilities of developing custom features? 

 

2. If I host my PrestaShop in the cloud how do I develop new features without affecting the production before I have seen it work? I.e. Is there a development environment I can set up locally or something?

 

Same questions as before but for if I choose to host it myself.

You can't make a lot of changes because development on cloud is very limited.

You will not have possibility to use large part of free modules / themes developed by community.

there is no development environment. on cloud you cant have both production / development. You cant import / export changes from other store (for example hosted locally)
