Remove Product and Category ids from url

Hi,

I am using PS version 1.6.1.6 and I want to remove category and product ids from seo friendly urs.

I am new to prestashop and have seen may paid version/modules to remove them but as of now I have some financial constraints and looking for free solution to it.

 

Can anyone please help, It will be a real help.

Thanks for this information but I will like to update that the old topic discuss about version 1.5 where as I am looking for solution for version 1.6.

i dont remember the exact page of this thread, but there is a solution for 1.6 too.

the link to topic i pasted contain solution for your question. merchants say there that it works with 1.6.x releases.
