front office pages go back to default language url changes

Hello all,

 

I am using prestashop 1.6.1.4. My shop has 3 languages (id=1 for enlish, id=2 for de/German ,id=3 for es/Spanish) while English is set as the default language in the back office configuration, with "Set language from browser" set to "NO". I have all pages with SSL Security.

 

Once I select a different language in the front end language block the current page is translated correctly. When I hover over the links on the page I can see the url with correct language id. But when I click on the link, the page is shown in the default language and the browser shows the url with the default language id.

 

Anybody knows why the link is rewritten or redirected to the default language?
