[SOLVED] 403 Forbidden error HELP please!

Recommended Posts

I am having this error when trying to update most of my products in the back office, but not all of them, so that is why I am asking here instead of my hosting provider.
I have already checked permissions and everything is ok. Very strange error. All I have done in the past days is installing block newsletter, also changed register globals to off (already tried to turn it back on with no luck). The shop has been working great for months, so I don't know where to look at...

The error FYI:
"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /admindir/index.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

All the weekend trying solutions with no luck:

- My hosting provider suggested a permfix (permissions) to my whole account. Problem remains.

- Same shop and database installed in localhost, no problem at all with updates. So it must be something related to the server, but also to PS because some products update without problems!

Really getting out of ideas... I will really appreciate any kind of suggestion.

Having the similar problem whereby out of sudden my shop no longer able to Update a product with following error
=============================================
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /adminXXX/index.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
=============================================

Had try all the tricks like .htaccess, 777 permission, non of them work for me.
At last the solution is to get the web hosting admin to disable the Apache mod_security.

Hope this help to you :)

I get this error but only when access from the internet. I am self hosting and internally on my Lan I have no issues accessing the store or the admin pages. When I try to access via the internet from a remote machine i get the 403 Forbidden error when connecting port 80 and /prestashop and internal server error when accessing via port 8080.

It is hitting the Apache web server as the error messages are from apache.

It seems it is permissions within the httpd-ssl.conf file. I have made some adjustments and renamed the.htaccess so it would recreate on startup.

I can now access everything appropriately. Back Office only available locally, the storefront available both internally and externally via https.

Only site of :80 within the httpd-vhosts.conf and the :443 site within the httpd-ssl.conf file.  Making sure the Directory locations and permissions are correct.
