Duplicate content

Hi, does Google penalize for duplicate content? We are talking about a product with 8 color schemes with everything exactly the same minus the reference and barcode.

 

Hi, i would like to know what's better for SEO:

• generate a product with 4 combinations (different colour for example) or
• generate 4 products with personalised description, EAN, and reference.

I don't know if with second option google can penalise for duplicate content.

 

I've been testing searching for ean or reference in products with combination and google don't index the combinations references or ean and i'm interested on it.

from seo point of view will be better. But description must be different to avoid problems with duplicated contents
