Hide ID from URL

Hi,

 

i saw the last post was from 2009 and I suppose that it changed something.

 

I like to hide the ID from URL, but when I delete the {id} tag on prestashop's SEO module i get an error.

 

How can I do it?

you can not simply remove {id} from URL, because it is used the back end PHP code. 

{id} is used in the URL rewrite rule.

 

there should be a 3rd party module that help with that. try search it from Prestashop addons marketplace.

I highly advise not to remove id from url, google does not care, to do so 1) you will destroy your shop quickly or 2) you will destroy your shop slowly as you find out what native features and modules will stop working.

by now I've a opencart shop. Opencart is not using number ID on their URL, I want to change to prestashop but I like to maintain the same URL that google indexed yet is for this reason that I like to remove the ID numbers on the url.

This information would have been helpful at start, then there would be reason to be concerned about the id.
