HELP: install stuck on fasthosts + shared SSL + other hosts?

The installation can't seem to go past the system requirements check and once the bar on top finishes and disappears nothing happens.

I searched the forum and found a post that says that fasthosts is no good as they won't enable GD library but as I have php running this can't be true?? can it?

also my site is on a shared server and fasthosts provide a shared ssl, will this be ok?

any other suggestions in regards to setting up the site. I am borrowing webspace from a reseller friend so have no commitments to fasthosts ..if you know of a better hosts please let me know..

i looked up 1&1;and they offer a good package with a dedicated ssl certificate but I've read really horrible things about them on other forums so a bit confused.

please help..i have no idea what to do..and i needed to have this done yesterday!!

P.S i also want to host email on the same server and have read here that email doesn't work with fasthosts..is this still true (as the post i read was old)
