Problems after transfering PS to another server

I have a problem with PS 1.6.1.5 after changeing servers. I have done everything according to a solution I have found somewhere here, namely:

- manually backed up files from ftp

- exported SQL base from the server

- domain parked on a new server

- created new SQL base on a new server

- copied all files to a new ftp

- changed settings in config folder to a new base

- once PS connected properly to a new base I have copied SQL base from an old server to the brand new

 

Result? Does not work.

Tried differently, by installing a new PS on a new server and then copied old SQL base to the one connected to PS however, surprisingly, PS behaved like a totally new e-shop, with dresses skirts etc, despite the old SQL base, it did not have any categories, products, CMS and anything from the previous server.

 

Probably I did something wrong however I can not find any solution to this.

Have you changed the domain name  in the db shop table ?... 

 

if not change the name of the shop url to recent domain name...

 

and access the admin .... and change the setting accordingly..

I did not change it as the domain remained the same. I has been parked to another server but the address stayed the same. Should I?
