Bulk price update - Understanding table fields

Hi,

I'm developing a script for a bulk price update for PS 1.6.

 

It's not clear how price and wholesale_price on ps_product and ps_product_shop works.

 

I have the prices without VAT, does I have to update the column price on both tables? It doesn't seem to work.

you need ot update in both and product_shop was introduced for multistore
