jtyana
i am creating my site on my local machine using WAMP.I renamed htaccess.txt to htaccess.htaccess. Is this right? In a linux environment, the htaccess file is renamed to .htaccess (dot htaccess)But windows (XP anyway) won't allow you to rename the file to .htaccessIf no one else comes to help you, try uploading the file to your linux webspace, rename it thereto .htaccess and FTP is backI don't know if this will work but if no one else comes to help, it's worth a try.If you're on a windows server then I don't know. Damien Metzger
On windows:- launch a terminal (win-r then "cmd" in the prompt),- browse to the htaccess file folder ("cd" to browse, "dir" to display the files),- rename the file ("rename htaccess.txt .htaccess").
