Hiding a category and its products

Hi,

 

Here is what I am trying to achieve:

 

I am creating a product category for special deals and the products in this category should ONLY be visible when you have the category URL, the products should not show as new product, on the home page or anywhere else but on the specific category page (like a totally hidden category with products).

 

I have tried hiding the category or the products and any combination I could figure out but I cannot accomplish this, can you possible help?

Did you try to assign category to special group?

Edit category at the end of the page Group access.

Create special group and assign customer to that group who should see the products.

 

It is not exactly the same what you look, but i hope it solves your problem.

Hi,

 

Thanks for your swift reply, is a good idea however as I am sharing the category link with a group of people where I do not know the individuals I cannot assign them to that particular group in advance....
