Hello guys,

i have a problem after i recently created a test subdomain to upgrade prestashop.

the file usage in my hosting is going up very fast..

in /public_html/cache/smarty/cache "productscategory" is adding a lot of data and is increasing always more, soon my hosting will reach the limit.

so i want to ask: will those cache files stop increasing? maybe after some time they get replaced/deleted automatically?

if you will add more categories, products, or cms pages etc. the cache will be bigger and bigger as long as you will add / change these things in your shop.

of course you can clear it, but in fact, the size of cache will be the same after some time.

i will be honest, it is much better to invest for better host than disabling cache (it affects performance)

hello vekia,

my host has a file usage limit of 300.000 inodes

this is the inodes usage in the folder ..cache/smarty/cache:

151             - blockcms
150             - blockcontactinfos
9               - blockcustomerprivacy
150             - blocksearch_top
150             - blocksocial
54287           - blocktopmenu
26              - crossselling
77177         - productscategory
114             - homefeatured
Total:          132216

as you see productscategory is adding a crazy number of files since around 24 hours (since when i cleared cache) is it normal to have so many files in that specific folder? is adding new files every minute...

it has never done that before... and my total inodes usage was always stuck around 70.000 before
