Prestashop Pricing Methods ?

Hi there Guys / Girls,

So i came across a new idea for a store which of cause i decided to use Prestashop, but unfortunately I’ve run into a bit of difficulty in setting the pricing for the products.

So the Problem:

The store which iam currently building will be selling Air-Conditioning Units online which is a great idea BUT after getting everything ready for me to be able to start loading products i noticed that there is no means in having the products listed as two parts but for one price and individual weights and dimensions for shipping.

For Example: ;)

An air-conditioning unit is normally sold in two parts (Indoor Unit and Outdoor Unit) which means that each part is separately packaged with its own weight and dimensions. But instead of selling them individually they get sold as a whole, but when checking out it becomes a problem for the Shipping / Courier companies as on the collection notice they see one unit so they only charge for one unit and not the other.

So what i was thinking:

Is there a way to have both parts sold for one price but only have them be calculated for shipping separately??

Simplified Explanation: :D

Can we somehow tweak the system to charge one price for the two parts (One cant be sold without the other) but have both parts weights and dimensions calculated separately as if they are sold as two different items ?

Surly hope for a good solution to my problem,

Thank in advance for any advise / suggestions

Regards,

M

Have you thought about setting a product pack that will actually includes both units?

Hi Tapanda.gr,

Not quite sure what you mean when you say "product pack" as is state that both parts are to be sold together and not either or ?

To my understanding of packs is that you can choose to take a box or both in which my case both parts makes up a complete item ?

Regards,

M
