How to split up multi store for a sepete shops?

I have a multi store shop. Is there any simple way to split them up for a separate domains and database?

Yes, you can split them into separate domains (see tutorial), but the Prestashop Multistore function is built to work on the same database.

Its for the older version but the settings have not changed for 1.6/1.5

Can you provide some help on the most efficient way to do this?  I have 8 shops in one database and need to split them all to be domain based shops with its own database.  Thanks.

The easiest way is - after copying the shop - to disable the shops that you don't use in that copy. You cannot disable shop 1 so you could choose to empty it instead.

 

You will find lots of manuals on copying and moving shops on the internet.

That is what I was trying to do.  I can take the 7 unwanted shops to "maintenance" mode.  Is this the same as disabling?  Each shop has its own theme.  I also deleted individual theme folder on the server as well.  A few other questions:

1. From the drop down in the back office, is there a way to get rid of the unwanted shops? They still show up after I deleted their theme folder.
2. What about the products, customers, and orders?  They are not shared entities. Do they need to be deleted via database access?

Go to Advanced Parameters -> Multistore. 

 

This is a bit strange page. You should click on one of the links to shops or shopgroups in the upper half (or the left half if you have a wide screen). Then you will see at the lower half a list of shops that you can either disable or delete. Clicking on different links results in quite different screens (in some you can't delete shops).
