anson.c
Hi everyone,My site is almost finished but I find its loading time is kind of slow. www.ecyclog.comI'm not sure whether my hosting sucks (iPage) or my Prestashop and mySQL setting are not optimized.I tried to ping my domain and got the average of 95ms. I guess it's not too too bad. Here is what I've done to optimize my ps:1. Added "2. Tried to modify the Product.php file in 'classes' folder (http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/45000/development/slow_database_queries_identifying_and_fixing_dot_) but it has bugs that cause my product list disappeared in my back office. So I restored the original file and skipped this part.3. Turned on smarty cache by modifying smarty.class.php "var $caching = 1;"The site seems to run a bit faster but definitely not smoother. When you try to click on something, it's like there a 3-10 seconds waiting time before it starts to load.Any suggestions? Thanks!

anson.c
Hey Franz,Apparently I`m with iPage too and the first thing I want to say is iPage SUCKS real bad! If the problem is just Prestashop then shouldn`t it be slow all the time? That's not for my case at least. My website sometimes runs smooth sometimes is not, and it goes down at least once a week. Tried to contact iPage and their responses are always fast, 'cause they just use some templates for their email and do fill-in-the-blank kind of reply. They always say they can't duplicate the problem and ask you to take screen shots, your steps etc etc.... Anyhow, my bottom line is once your website is completed and making progress in business wise, go find a better hosting as we know how much we paying to iPage and we can't expect much. I'm too looking for a better hosting. The IT guy from my company suggests pair.com. They have good 'REAL' reviews from some big company who also chose them as their hosting.
