Filters for automotive store

Hello everyone!

 

So I've been jumping from platform to platform to find a proper filter that best caters to an automotive store. What this filter does is have the dropdown of 3 fields, Year > Make > Model. Now I know Prestashop has plugins that creates dropdown menus for categories but the main problem is having the browser remember (cookie/cache) what vehicle they selected so it only shows parts for that particular vehicle. Otherwise users will have to keep putting in the vehicle spec after every page.

 

Has anyone done this before? Module? Any other platform recommendation? Any solution?

I don't think that there a module, because we done custom job for our client. And it was not cheep.

Thank you for your response. What else would you recommend? Other sites have it so it's gotta be somewhere. You think Magento can pull off something like this? Any help is appreciated.

I don't know anything about other platforms.

If I understand correctly you have no coding skills and no budged but want to compete with huge companies, that invest a lot of money into making the best user experience they can?

 

Start small and improve you website when you will have a profit.
